Priorities
My campaign is focused on applying what I learned in the Army to address key issues facing Franklin, such as the urgent need for disciplined spending, responsible growth and infrastructure that is put in place upfront to support our growth rather than as an after thought. As I’ve talked with residents in Ward 2, these are the key issues they continue to raise and would like to see addressed by their Alderman.

I will work to make this easier and simpler for busy families to follow.
Rubber stamped developments
Middle Eight
NCUMBENT WARD 2 ALDERMAN MATT BROWN VOTED "YES"
Reasons for my opposition:
Adds 275 units!
Opposition by concerned voters and groups like the Heritage Foundation of Williamson County and the citizen-led "STOP the Middle Eight" (which claimed around 1,000 members in 2023) focusing on threats to historic preservation.
Preservationists worry about the loss of Franklin's last "green gateway" along Franklin Road, which may hold undocumented Civil War-era artifacts.
Ovation
INCUMBENT WARD 2 ALDERMAN MATT BROWN VOTED "YES"
Reasons for my opposition:
With Aureum, adds 2400 units!
A retired Traffic Engineer says this will create a traffic ARMAGEDDON!
This development has been on the books since 2014! A retired developer says this is unheard of. Things change over time. No development should remain approved and not yet built for this many years!

INCUMBENT WARD 2 ALDERMAN MATT BROWN VOTED "YES"

With Ovation, adds 2400 units!

I will not create more problems. I will SOLVE problems!
Why Your Vote Matters
Each vote is a powerful voice in our community. I will work to have more voter information and civic engagement, making the process simpler and easier for voters in Ward 2 to participate in how their city is run. Your input continues to shape my campaign priorities and reinforces my commitment to being your voice as your Alderman.

My Campaign Priorities
Over the past month, I've actively engaged with voters, attended community events, and connected with business owners to understand your concerns and ideas. Your invaluable feedback is shaping our campaign priorities and reinforces my unwavering commitment to be your representative as your Alderman. My foremost priority for Franklin is to enhance citizen participation in Ward 2. I've consistently heard from voters that many feel uncertain and apathetic, often stating, “they're going to do what they want to do anyway.” This mindset is unacceptable. Civic engagement should be straightforward and accessible. As a retiree with the time to research and no business to promote, I recognize that many voters lack this luxury. Effective communication and empowering voters is very important to me.
Furthermore, given the pressing concerns about uncontrolled growth and increased traffic, I will simplify the way the development approval process is tracked, making it easier for citizens to follow. This transparency will empower voters to make informed decisions about who and what to support. My experience in Arlington, VA, where I helped establish a personnel tracking system for the National Guard Bureau, and at Fort Bragg, where I developed a system for tracking Army National Guard students attending Special Forces training, will be instrumental in this effort. I will leverage these skills, along with your input, to develop a system that works for all of us in Franklin. Together, we will make informed decisions that will lead to a better city for every resident.

I believe in
-
NOT taking donations from developers, creating a conflict of interest. Unlike my incumbent who believes this is ethical. Matt Brown took in $64,000 and $49,000 in the second and third quarters, respectively. Check it out for yourself. https://williamsoncountytn.easyvotecampaignfinance.com/home/publicfilings
-
REQUIRING Comprehensive Development Impact Studies for all new large developments. Developer fees should be paid for by the Developers and NOT passed onto new property owners! Growth is important but high-density is NOT.
-
DISCIPLINED financial stewardship that evaluates less-costly alternatives starting with The City Hall "Taj Mahal in downtown which doesn't produce anything.spending. Spending $1,400/s.f. for one building when there were multiple other suitable and less expensive options is not a good use of taxpayer money.
-
KEEPING Franklin residents informed about development instead of waiting until its too late. Operating with integrity, transparency & accountability is my how I will represent Ward 2!
-
GIVING residents ample time to present complex rebuttals to development requests. Having only 1-2 minutes for a retired traffic engineer to explain important details and giving Developers unlimited time is not fair. I will also NOT SUPPORT deferring votes multiple times which wears out the voters who want to voice their concerns. We elect Aldermen to serve the people and NOT the developers. Lets get this straight.
